I am a DONA (Doulas of North America) certified birth doula, a post-natal doula and a Certified Lactation Education Counselor (CLEC). I love helping women and families grow through the amazing process of giving birth and becoming --or expanding -- a family. I support women of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and birth preferences. I work with single parents, blended families, GLBT, as well as traditional families. My mission is to nurture, advise, and provide comfort for women through the birth process and beyond.
I work throughout the Twin Cities area. I can work with you either as a birth doula, a post-natal doula, or both. I can do either separate or combined agreements, and build a package that suits your needs. You can learn more about the specifics of each role in the birth and post-natal services sections.
I love babies. I love the mother-baby connection. I love helping you prepare for their arrival, experiencing the mystery of birth, and providing calm support and insights in the chaotic days and weeks after birth. I am honored to be included in my clients' lives. I listen carefully to learn what your needs are, and tailor my process to ensure I build and maintain your trust, and execute your wishes. I am discreet, reliable, trustworthy, honest, and direct.
I often describe my home life as a "frat house"; my husband and I have two sons, ages 24 and 20. Birth work allows me to immerse myself in a world full of empowered women, and I draw energy and joy from it.
